Kiwi stories

These ‘Kiwi stories’ and budgets were developed from conversations with retired New Zealanders about their spending patterns.

They are based on example case studies in ‘Expenditure in Retirement’ by Judith A. Davey, prepared for the Retirement Commission in May 2009.

The characters are fictional, but their circumstances are based on interviews with real Kiwis.
