How to use this calculator:

This calculator lets you import transactions from your bank statement, assign income and spending to some simple categories, and see what your money is doing.

You can either enter transactions manually from your printed bank statement, or import transactions downloaded from your online banking.

To import your bank transactions:

  1. Log in to your online banking.
  2. Download a 'CSV file' of transactions to your computer
  3. This varies per bank, but the key thing is to use the CSV format and remember where you save the file.
  4. Use the browse button below to locate the saved CSV file on your computer, choose the bank and click 'Upload'.

Once you have entered or imported your transactions, simply assign a category to each transaction.
