Sorted.org.nz offers this comment facility for Sorted users to make comments and to have conversations with each other.
The Commission for Financial Literacy and Retirement Income does not review users' comments until after they are posted. The Commission then reviews them for compliance with our rules and guidelines and may delete or edit them if they do not comply.
Users' views are not our views. The Commission does not endorse users' comments and the Commission is not liable for anything you do (or do not do) as a result of using or relying on this comments facility.
If you post, or rely upon, comments then you do so at your own risk.
The Commission reserves the right to not publish or to remove any comments or other material posted on this site at any time for any reason (or for no reason at all).
Comments - rules and guidelines
The comments are intended to be a way for Sorted users to respond to Sorted blog posts and to share and exchange their ideas, learnings and experiences on personal finance issues.
Sorted is not responsible for any of the opinions expressed in the comments.
Comments are not reviewed before they are published. However, we reserve the right to remove or edit any comment, and to block user access to the comments where necessary. See Moderation below for more information.
7 rules for Sorted comments
We will remove your comment if:
- Your comment includes swearing or obscene, derogatory or vulgar remarks.
- Your comment is defamatory, condones illegal activity or contains information which might affect the outcome of an approaching or current court case.
- Your comment contains personal information - addresses, phone numbers, email addresses or other online contact details - either relating to yourself or other individuals – unless you are a financial adviser (see below).
- Your comment has already been posted on Sorted.
- Your comment advertises specific products or services.
- Your comment impersonates or falsely claims to represent a person or organisation.
- Your comment breaches copyright.
Moderation
If a comment contravenes the above rules it will be removed after publication.
In some cases your comment may be returned to you by email, along with a reference to the broken rule(s). You will be invited to make appropriate changes in order that the comment can be reconsidered. However, if your comments repeatedly break the rules your user access to the comments may be revoked.
Privacy
Sorted will not display any of your personal information in the comments, apart from your comments username. If are logged into My Sorted and have not chosen a "nickname", your My Sorted username will appear below your comment. If you would rather your username wasn’t displayed, go to the My Sorted page, select "Edit my details" in the left-hand column then enter a nickname under 'Comment settings'.
Usage
Your comments may be used by Sorted as part of our research and promotion, and we reserve the right to copy or quote them here on Sorted or in other media.
These Guidelines may be changed or updated without notice.
Financial advice
Sorted does not provide personal financial advice. However, from time to time we may invite financial advisers to post commentary on our blog, or financial advisers may add their own comments to blog posts.
If you are a financial adviser offering advice to a Sorted user, you must make all disclosures required by law in your comment. This will include adding the following text to any comment which includes financial advice: "A disclosure statement is available at [insert direct link to adviser disclosure on your website]. You should read this before reading our advice"
If you are a Sorted user receiving advice from a financial adviser, please read any adviser disclosures included in their comment.
