Meet the new Money tracker

Tagged with: Budgeting, calculators

Since the Cashflow calculator launched in December 2007, we’ve been aware that it hasn’t been the easiest of our tools to use. But feedback also suggests many people who have found it very useful but would love it to work a little bit better.

So two years on, welcome to the new Sorted Money tracker.

Money tracker - home screen

  • We’ve changed its name, to better reflect what this tool actually does – track where your money is really going over a period.
  • We’ve shown the steps you need to take to use the tool upfront – so you know what to expect.  There are also help tips throughout the tool.
  • You can now upload your transactions more securely, with SSL encryption.
  • The transaction categories now expand to match the line items in the Budget calculator – so now rather than just having the broad "Entertainment" category for example, you can now go a step further and categorise an item as “Dining out” or “Movies”.
  • You can now view a summary of your spending in a tasty pie chart.

But (drumroll) – the biggest new feature – thanks to popular demand – is the ability to export transaction amounts to the Budget calculator. Either to start a new budget, or update an existing one to show your actual spending.

That’s a lot to take in – so have a look for yourself and share your first impressions.

Note that if you have used the Cashflow calculator in the past, you have the option to open saved files in the old tool or the new Money tracker

Re: new money tracker

While we don't currently have a help file available for Westpac, the Money tracker does support file uploads from this bank. You will find Westpac listed in the "Select bank" box at Step 1 of the tracker.

new money tracker

I want to up load my account information from Wespac bank but it doesn't appear as one of the banks on the selection list. What do I do?
